100.18 - Precious Blood Missionaries

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood are a Roman Catholic community of priests and brothers founded by Saint Gaspar del Bufalo in 1815. The Missionaries of the Precious Blood is a shortened English translation of the Latin "Congregatio Missionariorum Pretiosissimi Sanguinis Domini Nostri Jesu Christi," (The Congregation of Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ). They use the post-nominal initials C.PP.S. after their names. They are classified as a Society of Apostolic Life in the Roman Catholic Church because its members do not take vows, but instead make promises to follow the evangelical counsels (poverty, chastity and obedience).
